About The Role

MWH Treatment are a dynamic design and build company with a 200+ year history, operating within a high-volume process industry. With a reputation for innovation and delivering high-quality solutions, we are embarking on a transformative journey to leverage data as a strategic asset. For the first time, we are creating a dedicated and focused data function to revolutionize our data systems and processes - and we are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to work with our Head of Data and Operations teams in shaping and implementing our data infrastructure, usage and processes. 

The Data Analyst plays a critical role within the Operational team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, data-driven insights across MWH Treatment’s projects and functions. The role focuses on transforming raw operational data into meaningful analysis, enabling improved decision-making, performance optimisation, and efficiency across engineering, construction, and delivery activities. Working closely with operational leaders, project teams, and central data functions, you will ensure data is accurately captured, modelledanalysed and communicated to provide clear, actionable insight aligned with business priorities

Key Responsibilities: 

Data Analysis & Insight 

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to track key performance metrics (e.g. programme, cost, productivity, quality, H&S) 

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within project and operational data 

  • Provide clear, concise insight to support decision-making at all levels of the business 

  • Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches 

 
  • Operational Performance Support

  •  

  • Support project and operational teams with performance tracking and reporting 

  • Contribute to the development of standard KPIs and performance frameworks across the business 

  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support project reviews, governance, and leadership reporting 

  • Enable data-driven continuous improvement across delivery teams

  • Data Management & Quality

  •  

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across operational datasets 

  • Support the development and adoption of data standards, definitions, and governance practices 

  • Work with system owners to improve data capture processes and quality 

  • Assist in maintaining structured datasets aligned to enterprise data platforms (e.g. Jigsaw or equivalent)

  • Tools & Reporting

  •  

  • Develop and maintain dashboards (primarily using Power BI or equivalent tools) 

  • Automate reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve reliability 

  • Support integration of data from multiple systems (e.g. project controls, finance, asset systems) 

  • Ensure reporting aligns with business standards and is easily consumable by non-technical users

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with operational teams to understand data needs and challenges 

  • Work closely with central data, digital, and IT teams to align on standards and platforms 

  • Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

  • Provide training and guidance to users on data tools and reporting outputs 

About You

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role, ideally within an operational, engineering, or project-based environment. 


  • Technical Skills: 


  • Proficiency in Excel (including Power Query) and data modelling techniques. 

  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau  

  • Working knowledge of SQL or other data querying tools  

  • Familiarity with integrating and analysing data from multiple systems 


  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights. 

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy, quality, and security. 

  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside operational teams and stakeholders. 

  • Communication: Ability to clearly present data and insights to non-technical audiences in a concise and understandable way. 

  • Education: Degree in a relevant subject (such as Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
