MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a Health and Safety Advisor supporting our water projects across the North West.
Reporting directly to the Senior SHEQ Advisor, you will provide practical health and safety advice, assurance and coaching to project and operational teams, helping them manage risk, meet legal and company requirements, and continually improve performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Understand and apply our approach to managing health and safety risk and delivering best-in-class performance.
- Provide practical advice and support to managers, supervisors, project teams and the workforce on health and safety legislation, company procedures and good practice.
- Monitor corrective actions through to timely close-out and verify that the actions taken are effective and deliver sustained improvement.
- Plan and undertake site inspections, audits and health and safety assurance visits, clearly reporting findings and agreeing proportionate actions with project teams.
- Lead or support accident, incident and near-miss investigations using appropriate root-cause analysis, communicate lessons learned and confirm the effectiveness of resulting actions.
- Integrate with wider project teams to understand day-to-day challenges, influence planning and support risk elimination and effective control.
- Work collaboratively with clients, designers, the supply chain and other stakeholders to improve health and safety performance.
- Support health and safety throughout the project lifecycle, including design, planning, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Review high risk activity risk assessments, method statements and project health and safety documentation, identifying opportunities for safer and more sustainable solutions.
- Analyse health and safety performance data, identify trends and provide clear reports and recommendations to support improvement.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of our externally certified management systems, including ISO 45001.
