We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Senior Mechanical Engineer based at Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Report
to Principal Engineer, Design Managers, Technical Discipline Lead and Regional
Discipline Lead.
- Produce
design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the
specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
- Production
and Checking of all design deliverables including Specifications,
Schedules, Drawings and Calculations.
- Working
alongside other disciplines for the development of site/plant 3D model.
- Ensure
that standard designs & practices are utilised wherever possible.
- Delivering
the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and
budget.
- Coordinating
design outputs across all technical disciplines.
- Maintain
competitiveness.
- Provide
estimates and feedback for Proposals department.
- Establish
working relationships with construction staff and supply chain
representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in
design outputs.
- Work
to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the
department.
- Assist
in developing procedures and processes.
- Monitor
and review the procedures and processes.
- Write, update and monitor efficient procedures
to aid the smooth running of the department.
- Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
- Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
