About The Role

MWH Treatment are in a period of significant growth and we are looking to enhance our Programme Team with the recruitment of a Planning Manager for our Severn Trent region.

Role Responsibilities 

This role will primary be responsible for leading, mentoring and inspiring the Planning Team, whilst being the technical expert that enhances the team’s skillset and leads by example in creating high-quality project programmes. The role’s responsibilities will likely include:

  • Directly supporting Project Managers and Project Teams across the business to deliver high quality programmes that support efficient project delivery.
  • Creating detailed Primavera P6 programmes that meet the requirements of our projects whilst developing P6 templates that meet our client’s expectations.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans through reliable project management methodologies with assurance of baseline scheduling.
  • Line Management of the planning team including workload balancing, mentoring and developing team members.
  • Providing technical expertise to the team in Primavera P6, MS Project and related project planning activities.
  • Develop project and programme level reporting to enhance the information and intelligence available for business planning using PowerBI and related software.
  • Manage the link between the regional planning team and the business’ Head of Planning.

Role Location

The role is based primarily in the Derby Regional Office, with remote working and project site visits across the Severn Trent Region very much a part of the role. As this is a newly created role, there will be an expectation for flexibility around working location whilst the role develops.

 

About You

Essential Experience

To be successful in this role, the person we are looking to employ MUST have the following skillsets. These skillsets are key to the role and will be used as an initial filter during application reviews.

  • Extensive Project Planning experience.
  • Technical capabilities using Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to monitor and control project deviations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Appropriate professional qualifications and certifications
  • Experience using Power BI and/or similar project reporting software.

Desirable Skills & Experience

These skillsets will be beneficial to the role. Applicants are encouraged to clearly show on their application whether they have these and/or other transferable skills which could enhance their performance in this role.

  • Academic qualifications in a construction or infrastructure related subject.
  • Infrastructure and/or water industry experience.
  • Personnel line management experience.
  • Project management and project delivery experience.
  • Experience in a consultancy or a client facing environment.

Candidate Selection Process

Each application will be reviewed carefully by the MWH Treatment recruitment team, and appropriately experienced candidates will be selected for a remote screening interview with the Programme Manager. This interview will allow MWH to better understand your skillset and will explore your career history, professional capabilities, academic achievements and wider industry knowledge.

Successful candidates will then be invited to the second stage of the selection process which will involve a remote technical skills assessment and/or in-person interviews.
