About The Role

We are looking to strengthen our Digital Delivery team with a Regional Information Manager based at our Derby office with hybrid working available.  

You will report directly to the Head of Digital Delivery and your role will drive and lead the Information management quality assurance process across the Region, onwards to the North Division, supporting project teams’  to understand how to execute their responsibilities as described in ISO 19650.  Championing the MWHT asset information management process across Engineering and Operations.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Executing the responsibilities of the Information Management Function as described in ISO 19650, across all frameworks in the division – primarily ensure compliance with the Client’s requirements and maintenance of contracted deliverables (Project BEPs and MIDPs).
  • Management of the delivery of asset information throughout the whole project lifecycle, including ownership of the master asset data register and asset data handover process.
  • Building and maintaining a relationship with client IMs.
  • Govern the data and information created to enable mView (project & field viewer) to operate, covering key areas like information model components; graphical data (e.g. CAD models, drawings), non-graphical data (e.g. attributes, tabular data), documentation (e.g reports, O&M manuals)
  • Engaging with clients and suppliers to identify, explore, and challenge their Information Management requirements.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in the development of appointed supply chain partners by assisting with assessment, selection, training and upskilling.
  • Supporting supply chain members to ensure all parties work to the Project BEP.
  • Interfacing with all project stakeholders to ensure that data is exchanged effectively and in formats that support their onward purpose.
  • Providing Information Management technical support and direction to all Project Team members.
  • Reporting on project compliance in line with Client stage gate delivery processes.
  • Establishing & maintaining a system of reports and metrics to monitor IM success at project and regional/framework level.
  • Providing support to the Quality Assurance Lead in carrying out Quality Assurance / Quality Control audits on information delivery.
  • Working with the relevant individuals to support the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Supporting the preparation of business case documentation and liaise with the regional SLT to ensure any required changes are implemented.
  • Contributing to the planning and co-ordination of the transition of information from existing to new information systems as necessary (e.g. data migration for historic projects where relevant).
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with the Technology and Systems team, and contributing towards lessons learned, particularly for the CDE.
  • Working to maximize the benefits of improved information management in Health and Safety, Sustainability, Operations and Maintenance etc.
  • Coordinating and facilitating information management best practice within the allocated projects and the wider business and other division.
  • Role will expand to cover other frameworks in the North Division

About You

Competencies - Technical

  • Understanding and application of IM according to ISO 19650, related standards, and the Information Protocol
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering design, delivery and construction within any primary infrastructure sector, preferably Water or Utilities.
  • Delivery of Information Management processes.

    Competencies – Behavioural

  • Ability to engage with staff at all levels, provide support with IM-related topics and drive adoption of IM process.
  • Self-motivated and keen to learn across a range of technical subjects and engineering disciplines.
 

Experience:

  • Experience in the role of Project Information Manager for a framework or large-scale project
  • Experience using and managing information in Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise, BIM360, Viewpoint (4Projects), Aconex or similar.
  • Experience with 3D review tools such as Autodesk Navisworks or Bentley iTwin is desirable.


    Qualifications:

  • A certified postgraduate information management profession qualification is desirable
  • Membership of a professional institution desirable
Individual BIM certification (ISO19650 or BS1192) with recognised body e.g., ICE, BSi, BRE, etc. an advantage
