MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Principal Process Engineer for our ESD joint venture framework. Although this role is based in the Stepps office we have flexibility on the candidates location, as long as you are prepared to travel to the office/meetings as and when required in the future. Within this role you will be responsible to deliver process design solutions from client definition stage through design development, integration and commissioning / handover.

ESD is a joint venture between MWH Treatment, Black & Veatch, and Galliford Try formed to deliver Scottish Water’s Non-Infrastructure programme.

You will report directly to the Design Manager and the responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Client process design solutions which are cost-effective, carbon efficient, and which meet the requirements of the Client specifications, CDM regulations, governance procedures, and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.

  • Ensure process solutions can be effectively integrated with existing assets, attending site as required to establish condition, suitability and performance of such assets.

  • Working as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary design and delivery team, attend and contribute to all relevant project and technical meetings.

  • Establish collaborative working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability, and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.

  • Record, monitor and control process design changes in order to maximise cost efficiency.

  • Agree the design cost budget and monitor performance against the budget and provide forecast costs to completion for individual projects.

  • Actively support, develop, train and provide guidance to more junior process staff within the region.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related discipline.

  • Chartered with a relevant professional body.

  • Several years’ experience in multidisciplinary process plant schemes.

  • Previous water treatment experience preferably within Scottish Water

  • Experience of process design in a design-build environment.

  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.

  • A Strong background in wastewater process design is essential
