MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Innovation team with an Innovation Lead for our @one Alliance framework. The @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of seven partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO) and their extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

The @one Alliance are heading into their latest Asset Management Period, known as AMP 7 and this will see them deliver a £1.4bn programme of work over the next five years. Are you ready to join us as we gear up to deliver the most exciting and innovative AMP we have ever seen.

What will you be doing as our Innovation Lead?

The @One Alliance Innovation Lead will work with a variety of stakeholders leading & supporting on the delivery of @One Alliance Innovation projects; helping our teams to find solutions to their current and future challenges. In partnership with others you will lead the identification and understanding of business problems, then the identifying innovations (material, technological, ways of working etc) that drive carbon and cost efficiencies for the @One Alliance before ensuring the right solution is adopted across the relevant business areas. You will therefore play a key role in ensuring the @One alliance not only remains industry leading but continues to push the boundaries and outperform though AMP7 and beyond. 


You will:

  • Be an active member of the innovation community across Anglian Water, our Alliance partners and supply chain.
  • Develop and deliver the @One Alliance Innovation Strategy
  • Work with teams (including construction) to gain first hand understanding of how we build our assets and understand how we look for efficiency and innovation opportunities.
  • Partner with technical experts within the innovation team, AW, @one, @One partners and supply chain to evaluate and exploit new solutions
  • Collaborate with Anglian Water Standard Products Team to ensure all successful innovations are converted into Products and Standards for use by all. 
  • Represent @one at external events (e.g. tradeshows & conferences)
  • Conduct trials of candidate solutions in partnership with others to evaluate solution suitability
  • Collate and share your findings through formal reports and presentations to stakeholders.  
  • Play an active role in the delivery of Ofwat Innovation Fund projects, providing input to projects across disciplines such as low carbon materials, emerging treatment processes and digital delivery tools.


Given the dynamic nature of innovation projects, the Innovation Lead must be agile and willing to pivot when business demands change. You must be a great stakeholder manager; comfortable with engaging individuals and organizations both internally and externally. 

About You

For this exciting role you’ll have carbon modelling experience and use your communication skills to relay high-level strategy to all levels. You’ll use your calm and approachable methods to manage tension and conflict to channel it into positive energy and product quality outcomes to tight deadlines.
